Product Introduction EVA Mitsui Chemicals 220 is an ethylene‑vinyl‑acetate copolymer resin with vinyl acetate (VA) content of 28 wt% and melt flow rate (MFR) of 150 g/10min.

Main Applications

Hot‑melt Adhesives: This is its primary application field. It is suitable for hot‑melt adhesive production, widely used in book perfect‑binding, furniture edge‑banding, assembly of automobiles and household appliances, shoemaking, carpet coating and anti‑corrosion coating for metals.

Films: Used for packaging films including elastic packaging films, heat‑shrinkable films, food‑packaging films and laminated films, agricultural films, as well as intermediate layers for polyolefin laminated films.

Wire and Cable: Suitable for sheath materials of halogen‑free flame‑retardant cables, semiconductor shielding materials and certain special‑purpose cables.

Foamed Products: Available for foam slippers, sandals, building materials such as sound‑insulating boards and gymnastics mats, and various industrial foamed components.

Injection‑molded Products: Applied to toys such as toy‑car wheels and seat cushions, sports goods, automotive accessories including shock absorbers, fenders, interior & exterior trim parts, and household‑appliance components.

Resin Modification: Blended with other resins to improve flexibility and impact resistance.

Processing Processes & Key Points

‑Injection Molding: For toys, automotive parts and household‑appliance components. ‑Extrusion: Commonly used for films, sheets and wire‑cable sheaths. ‑Blow Molding: For hollow articles. ‑Foaming Molding: For foamed products such as shoe materials and padding materials.

Drying: If EVA absorbs moisture before processing, drying at 65‑80℃ for 2‑3 hours is recommended to avoid bubbles or silver streaks in finished parts.

Processing Temperature: Critical for EVA 220 processing. Melt temperature is generally recommended not to exceed 230℃. EVA has low thermal‑decomposition temperature (around 230℃). Excessively high temperature will easily cause material degradation. Typical processing temperature ranges from 150‑200℃, which shall be adjusted according to actual equipment and products.

Mold Temperature: Relatively low mold temperature such as 20‑40℃ is recommended.

Cooling: Products normally require rapid cooling for setting.
